Reston Day School Now in Partnership with Wakefield School
Dear Parents and Staff,
I am very pleased to announce that Reston Day School has initiated a special relationship with Wakefield School in the Plains, Va so that we may offer a first class education to our great families and friends from age 2 straight through 12th grade! This relationship means that students who apply from RDS will be coming from a program known and appreciated by Wakefield as distinct from many other primary schools in the area. I was especially impressed with Wakefield's commitment to developing "ethical, capable, and articulate citizens" in an atmosphere where where each child is known to the faculty, and is supported and challenged appropriately.
I have spent a lot of time researching local schools so that I could recommend a school whose program and values provide a sound next step for RDS parents and students. I feel Wakefield is the best, the most beautiful campus, a wonderful Headmaster and welcoming Admissions Director, but above all the most compatible and best staff and programs and facilities. Both of my boys, Alexander (age 13) and Christopher (age 8), will be at Wakefield this Fall.
For students who choose to go from third grade at RDS to Wakefield, we will be providing daily transportation to and from RDS Main Campus to Wakefield. We will be traveling the opposite way of rush hour each morning and evening.
In addition, our current Kindergarten through 3rd-graders will be using Wakefield's 60-acre campus and facilities occasionally while we build our relationship.
